Tick tock…tick tock…winter is almost here. We have been quite lucky this past week in the Tetons. It is usually hit or miss with the weather. One day can be sunny and warm and the next it could be snowy and cold. Fortunately this past weekend was full of sun, warm temps, and a bunch of biking. I have lived in this area for 10 years and must admit that the 8 months of winter gets a bit old. I am very thankful to mother nature for giving us an Indian summer so I can continue to ride my bike.
Everyday I feel like a kid at Christmas when I wake up and realize I get ONE MORE day on my bicycle. Womenspecific.com has become a great opportunity to learn about all the other amazing outdoor experiences people enjoy. Still, I cannot help confessing that my true passion holds for that two-wheeled object called the bicycle. I am in love with it! Each time I look down at my cranks turning I just want to kiss Kirkpatrick McMillan, the inventor of the modern bicycle. Considering he is not around anymore I end up kissing my Orbea Dama, a women’s specific bicycle, instead.
Getting on the bike in October may require a bit more effort, but I suggest sucking it up. Pack those extra arm warmers, booties, hat, and wind stopper and go for a fall ride. Once the snow starts flying you will wish you had pedaled that one more time. Happy riding.
