Let the sparks fly, or should I say dead skin. Don the lab coat, goggles, etc…
So, I tried the Artemis Heel Smoother and am completely amazed at this battery operated machine. My heels are not very big, but they needed smoothing. This will be a project.
My first thought was whether this will hurt and make my wonderfully callused foot a raw red hurting mess in my ski boots and sneakers. After all, tough heels actually are rough for a reason. I live in a very active community and like to be outdoors. My feet do not show their face very often. Unfortunately, they are not so pretty in summer dress shoes, poolside, at the doctor’s office, or padding around barefoot at home.
Taking the heel smoother out of the box, I was amazed at the simplicity. Put in 2 AA batteries, pick whether you want to work on the heels or toes (different attachments), turn on to soft or high, and be patient. Do not press too hard or the rotating head will stop. Just apply light pressure, get comfortable (good thing I practice yoga), and see the dead skin fly. I recommend a towel beneath the foot to catch the skin droppings. SWEET. After you finish the whole heel or one section, apply the Topaz Foot Butter. I like to smooth before bed and have found just a spot or two to work on each night feels wonderful. What a treat to be able to get a “spa” treatment in your own home.
Though it is winter, I plan to soak and smooth periodically in preparation for my friend Jannine’s wedding in June. I figure if I keep up on it, the process will just turn into foot maintenance. So far, I have not experienced any rawness or discomfort and I have smoother heels…see honey!
If you want to be super smooth, use the toe smoother attachment. This works just as nice.
