My favorite yoga mat by far is the Wai Lana brand mat. First of all, you can buy it at TJ Maxx or online very cheaply: $20 for an extra cush mat. This mat it is sticky enough out of the wrapper for any yoga practice. The Wai Lana is easy to clean, very durable (washing machine durable), offers many different color designs and the new smell wears off in a couple days (that is what we like).

I have a couple of these mats and my mom even gave hers away to a girl named Lana in Costa Rica because she knew she could hit TJ Maxx and pick out another hip mat (thick style) for a great price. I highly recommend the Wai Lana Yoga mat as a great value, high quality, cool designs, durable and, most importantly, appropriate and suitable mat for all yoga styles/levels.
